A medical transcriptionist can only key as fast
as the dictated word can be heard, spelled correctly, researched, and
fit into context. To produce accurately transcribed documents, the medical
transcriptionist must know the language of medicine- anatomy and physiology,
diagnostic procedures and treatments, spellings and abbreviations.
In order to acquire the necessary skills to become
a successful medical transcriptionist, you will need some formal MT training
after high school. For this, either you can join online medical transcription
courses or you can go with traditional transcription school settings.
Once you have medical transcription training, it is easier for you to
find jobs in hospitals or medical offices as a medical transcriptionist.
